Signature Project 1:


�Gunnison� Spar Platform Topsides and Mooring System ProjectProject:
"Gunnison" Spar Platform Topsides and Mooring System (Water Depth 3150 feet) Gulf of Mexico, Garden Banks Block 668

Client: Anadarko Petroleum Corporation

Services: Intertek Moody was contracted by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation to provide critical support to the successful completion of the "Gunnison" Project, which involved a spar platform topsides and mooring system. Intertek Moody provided multiple QA/QC personnel that were engaged in vital roles on the site construction, installation and commissioning teams. Technical staff provided included the Chief Inspector, along with Structural, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation Inspectors. Intertek Moody was also responsible for materials management and traceability, supplier surveillance at various fabrication facilities, and provision of personnel to oversee the installation of the mooring system. Additional responsibilities extended to the hookup, pre-commissioning and commissioning phase of the project where Intertek Moody personnel participated on site through the successful startup of the platform.

Intertek Moody has a long and successful history with Anadarko Petroleum Corp. having supplied many highly experienced construction, installation and commissioning personnel for their various offshore projects. For example, Intertek Moody's personnel have provided vital support roles on "Neptune" (the first spar installed in the Gulf of Mexico), "Nansen" (the first truss spar installed in the Gulf of Mexico), "Boomvang", "Red Hawk" (the first cell spar installed in the Gulf of Mexico) and "Constitution".

Signature Project 2:


Sakhalin Energy Investment Co. (SEIC) Project Project:
Sakhalin-II

Client: Sakhalin Energy Investment Co. (SEIC)

Services: Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd. (SEIC), a consortium of Shell (55%), Mitsui (25%), and Mitsubishi (20%) contracted Intertek Moody to provide Third Party Inspection and Verification Services on the Sakhalin II Development Project. The Sakhalin II Project entails the fabrication, construction and installation of two new platforms (Lunskoye A and Piltun-Asokhskoye B), two parallel pipelines, about 800 km in length, from the offshore platforms in the north via the Onshore Processing Facility (OPF) up to the Liquefied Natural Gas Plant and Oil terminal on the south end of the island, near the city of Korsakov. The project is designed to facilitate the development and transportation of oil and gas for export from the Sakhalin area to international markets.

Intertek Moody, in the capacity of Third Party Inspection and Verification Consultant, was responsible for the provision of field construction inspection services. This includes materials compliance verification and receipt inspection, R-O-W preparation, overseeing all welding processes and activities, NDT operations including UT cross-checks, field joint coating operations/coating repairs, cathodic protection and electrical installations, installation of valve & pigging stations, and final examination prior to ditching and backfilling.

Signature Project 3:


Pearl Gas to Liquid (GTL) Project � Qatar Project:
Pearl Gas to Liquid (GTL) Project - Qatar

Client: Qatar Shell GTL Limited

Services: Inspection, Expediting, and Personnel

Intertek Moody has been providing inspection and expediting services, along with the supply of technical personnel, to Qatar Shell commencing in 2005 for the construction of 2 trains of a Gas To Liquids (GTL) Plant located onshore at Ras Laffan, and the offshore installation of platforms and gas gathering equipment in Qatar.

Intertek Moody has also carried out inspection and expediting services at the suppliers and sub suppliers works for the main process and utilities contractors, JGC Corporation and M W Kellogg Limited - Project JV, for all equipment being procured from suppliers around the world. This has included the main process 1200MT Reactors and other typical equipment, such as coolers, pumps, water treatment plants - waste water, desalination, vessels, underground carbon steel piping, glass fiber piping, fittings, flanges, valves, control valves, steam and gas turbines, waste heat recovery units, boilers, transformers, switchgear, and cabling.

The inspection activities have been performed against applicable Inspection and Test Plans, project documents including Shell DEP's and International Standards. The expediting services of the suppliers / sub suppliers were to ensure that delivery was maintained or improved to meet project build requirements.

Intertek Moody's supply of technical personnel was also being utilized by the project to carry out Quality Assurance Audits of suppliers and monitoring inspection activities of the other major contractors who had been awarded contracts on the project. Project completion is planned for around the end of the decade.

Signature Project 4:


Project:
Supplier Assessment - Stainless Steel Pipe Mill in China

Client: Major international integrated energy company

Services: Conducted a thorough ISO/ASME based, assessment of a stainless steel tube/pipe mill near Shanghai, China.

The scope of the assessment was:

  1. To evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of the mill's ISO 9001-2000 Quality Management System.

  2. To evaluate the mill's ability to produce pipe to meet the client's specifications, API Specifications, ASME Specifications, ASNT Specifications and other standards as required.

  3. To evaluate the mills' physical, mechanical and staffing abilities to supply product against the requirements.

  4. To determine if the mill was producing pipe that met the client's requirements.

  5. To conduct a value-added assessment/audit with all findings and observations to be presented to the mill in a closing meeting and in a full written report to the client.

Local engineers/auditors from Intertek Moody China assisted in translation, data gathering and in capability evaluations during the audit and then acted as the client's quality assurance inspection for balance of the order. The assessment/audit team included the Intertek Moody USA Quality Systems Assessor/Group Technical Manager (IRCA Certification), the Intertek Moody China Welding Engineer/Inspector and the Client's Metallurgical Engineer.
