Signature Project 1:
Project: Design & Implement a Company-wide Behaviour-based Safety Initiative
Client: Land Drilling Company
Services: A contractor with over 300 rigs suffered seven fatalities in 2006. The company contacted Randy Smith Training Solutions (RSTS), an Intertek Moody company, and requested RSTS design a customized behavior-based safety initiative, which would then be implemented throughout the entire company. RSTS conducted approximately 280 two-day workshops that all 7,000 employees attended over a six month period of time. During these six months there was an average 32% drop in the company's incident rate versus the six months prior to commencement of training and, more importantly, this positive trend continues.
Signature Project 2:
Project: Implementation of Shipyard Behavior-based Safety Initiative
Client: Shipyard project in Halifax, Nova Scotia
Services: Randy Smith Training Solutions (RSTS), an Intertek Moody company, was asked to implement a behavior-based safety initiative for a shipyard project in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The project lasted three months and accounted for over one-half of all man hours worked at the shipyard during that period. Initially, RSTS conducted workshops for only those shipyard personnel assigned to that project; however, upon review of the safety statistics (Fatalities, Lost time Incidents, Medical Treatment Only, First-aid Cases) provided below, the shipyard decided all personnel should attend the training.
The graph below shows the total number of incidents during the first quarter. A comparison is made between the shipyard personnel who attended RSTS' training and the personnel who did not during that period.
