On any major procurement, delays in delivery of materials, products or equipment to their final destination can prove to be very expensive. To reduce the potential for such delays, Moody International provides qualified expediters to actively oversee and when necessary assist suppliers in management of milestones and processes through the supply-chain as necessary to improve the required delivery of any items which may be critical to the procurement schedule.

Upon deployment, Moody’s skilled expediters initiate and undertake the actions necessary to maintain or improve agreed delivery dates. The objective is to facilitate and/or accelerate progress. Therefore the role of the expediter is an active one – distinctive from the passive role of reporting supplier progress.

The expediter will not only verify and report the status of materials and activities relative to the agreed program, but also: actively anticipate possible delays or bottlenecks; advise; assess; and where necessary coax, urge, influence and/or put pressure on the supplier to maintain or improve upon the agreed milestones.
