UK Accomplishments in Management System Certification
2006 proved to be a great year for
Moody International’s UK Management System Certification division.
Acquisition and transfers from competitors formed the leading business development strategies for 2006, and Moody succeeded on both fronts including the following prime examples.
After several months of negotiations between Moody and a Certification Body in Northern Ireland, the owner suddenly withdrew all offers. However, eight weeks later, the Irish company ceased operations. Never one to miss an opportunity, Business Development Manager Cheryl Savage contacted the previous Certification Body’s clients who were now left without representation or certification. Thanks to these proactive efforts, 85 clients were newly registered with Moody. Not only did this result in fantastic growth for the Management System Certification division in the UK, but it has also meant 85 new leads for other certification programs as the previous Certification Body only held ISO 9001 accreditation. Great job Cheryl and Team!

Another major contribution to the success of 2006 was the transfer of logistics company, Christian Salvesen. Anyone driving on UK motorways is sure to spot a Christian Salvesen transport vehicle. To provide a bit of background, Christian Salvesen PLC has evolved from a major shipping company into a European Logistics organisation with operations in the UK, Ireland, France, the Benelux and Iberia. Christian Salvesen now has over 13,000 personnel based in approximately 200 sites in seven countries, and performs activities ranging from the processing and freezing of vegetables at the start of a supply chain through to product delivery to both commercial and residential premises. This blue chip organization was registered to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 with another well known Certification Body – however after several visits from the UK Business Development Team, all registrations were transferred to Moody International. Since this transfer in May 2006 the company has begun the process of gaining OHSAS 18001 registration.
Other productive activities in 2006 included the orchestration of several seminars for ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 27001 and ISO 22000, with attempts to better support clients by increasing awareness in these areas.
Management System Certification training activities in the UK region continue to be strengthened. Four fully qualified tutors are now available to deliver IRCA accredited training courses. A full program of public courses is set for 2007 and can be found in Moody’s website training portal at www.moodyint.com
