Moody International Certification Norway announces a major contract within the Food Certification sector, being awarded a group certification program for 96 bakeries in Norway. The client, Din Baker AS or “Your Baker Group”, has 90 plus members with over 300 outlets for bakery goods, and revenues of approximately USD $400M. This adds to the growing success of the Moody Group certification program within the Norwegian food industry where the market share including this latest success is now above 60%.
Moody Certification Norway worked closely with Din Baker after their major retailers demonstrated the desire for certification in order to fulfil certain quality, environmental and HACCP requirements (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points).
The “Moody International Certification Standard for food” is Moody’s own standard. Although it was developed for Din Baker, it is applicable not only for bakeries, but for all sectors within the food industry seeking HACCP type certification, rather than pure BRC, IFS, ISO 22000, EurepGAP etc. The 96 bakeries in Norway will have the choice of either being certified against this new standard, BRC, or ISO 22000.
Special training course material has been developed to assist those bakery outlets needing pre-certification training, with a focus on HACCP. The standard, guidelines, report forms and training materials relating to this will be available for the Moody Group in English and German later this spring.
Moody Certification Norway has also recently engaged a local company, Ramko AS, a BRC approved ATP trainer, for BRC food training courses.
