The Royal Malaysian Police commemorated its 201st anniversary on 25 March 2008 with a new motto ‘Firm, Fair and Courteous’ coupled with a new badge ‘Integrity is Our Practice’.

This speaks of the determination of the police to reflect the current needs of Malaysians to enforce and maintain law and order and to prevent crime in Malaysia.

The changes and reform that have been introduced clearly reflect the commitment shown by the Top and Senior Management officers led by the Inspector General of Police.  All are working toward a “World-class” force and organisation which emphasizes professionalism and integrity in line with the long term goal of Malaysia’s quest to be a mature and fully developed nation.

Currently the police force now has about 90,000 personnel which creates a ratio of 1 policeman to every 385 people compared with the international police ratio of 1 to 250.  It is reported that an additional 60,000 police personnel will be recruited over the next few years to ensure the effective monitoring of public order and prevention of crime.

In this regard, the Police Training Colleges and Academies, which play an important role in the new and continual development of personnel competency and skills, have also implemented the ISO Quality Management System to measure up with the competency needs of the force. The changes will involve infrastructure upgrades and expansion to enable enhancement in the quality of policing.

Toward this goal, Moody International Certification, Malaysia is honored to be part of the ongoing change process and to be able to provide independent assessment of the progress and measurements put in place over the audit certification cycles.

Finally, we are proud that we have been chosen as the preferred Certification Body in the Royal Malaysian Police’s journey toward greater improvement in the quality of service and further gaining the trust and confidence of the Malaysian public.
