Debut Certification in Motor Sporting Sector

Moody International Certification (M) Sdn Bhd (MICM) grabbed the pole position ahead of its rivals in the certification business by certifying Formula 1 Medical Services, Malaysia. The Certificate Award ceremony was conducted on 23 March 2008 during which Y.A. Berbahagia Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (Former Prime Minister of Malaysia) presented the Standards Malaysia and SINCERT accredited ISO 9001: 2000 certificates (photo 1) to Brig Gen Dato' Dr Mohd Zin bin Bidin (Chief Medical Officer) of Formula One, PETRONAS Malaysian Grand Prix. The other certificates namely UKAS (UK), COFRAC (France), TGA (Germany) accredited ISO 9001: 2000 certificates were presented by YM Tunku Datuk Mudzaffar Tunku Mustapha (Chairman of AAM) (photo 2).

Petronas Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix is the most glamorous sporting event in Malaysia. Since the audit was carried out partly on the event day (which was telecast live to many countries and watched by over 100,000 spectators in Sepang International Circuit) both MIM and MICM’s visibility was magnified. 

This certification is the first of its kind within the Moody International Certification group and as such it is considered a great achievement that will help spur the growth of business through the enhanced visibility of Moody in the relevant industry sectors. This certification, among others, also testifies the quality of service provided by MICM as well the ranking MICM has in the management system certification sector in Malaysia. With this certification MICM is well positioned to compete with the other Certification Bodies in the Ivy League and attain the top position in the near future.
